The Allahabad High Court has directed the examination regulatory authority, Prayagraj to give a mark to a candidate in one question, involved in the recruitment of 68,500 assistant teachers and the other benefits that result from it. The order was passed by Justice Pankaj Bhatia on a plea by candidate Pushpendra Singh.

The petitioner said he had received the Booklet Series A in which his answer to question number 37 was found to be incorrect on the matching answer key.

Therefore, the petitioner did not get the score of that question. Whereas the same question was asked at number 10 in Booklet Series C. Some candidates also gave the same answers as the petitioners. Later, those candidates filed a petition in the High Court challenging the answer given in the answer key.

The Court observed that the answer given by petitioner’s is correct and the answer given in answer key is incorrect. On this basis, the court has directed to give a score of the said question.

The Court held that the same is true in the case of petitioner Pushpendra. Therefore, he should also be given the mark of question 37. Accepting the petition, the Court directed the examination regulatory authority that since the answer given by the petitioner is correct and the answer of answer key is incorrect.

Therefore, the petitioner should be given the mark of question 37 and the benefits that result from it, said the High Court.
