KATHUA RAPE AND MURDER LAWYER DEEPIKA RAJAWAT REFUSES HONOURARY SUPREME COURT BAR MEMBERSHIP

Advocate Deepika Singh Rajawat, also known as Deepika Thusso, has refused to accept a honorary bar membership, which was accorded to her for pleading the heinous Kathua rape and murder case.
The lawyer had been awarded the Honorary Membership by the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Supreme Court Bar Association, Mirpur in Pakistan.
“The award is in acknowledge of her courageously agitating and representing the rape and brutal murder of 8 year old Kathua girl despite threats and intimidation to her life and modesty,” it signed by Mian Sultan Mahmood, Advocate Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. However, refusing the honour, she said, “I am honored, and at the same time, and I am not ready to accept this, in fact I have refused it.”
Kashmir-born Deepika Singh, 38, is a counsel representing the family of victim in Kathua rape and murder case. She was allegedly threatened and intimidated by the President of the Jammu Bar Association allegedly for taking up the case of the raped and murdered Bakerwal child.
On Saturday, April 21, a youth from Downtown Srinagar, Sajad Shah had announced a gift of Rs 50,000 for Rajawat for pleading the case of Kathua rape and murder victim.
Shah said that people shouldn’t forget advocate Deepka Singh Rajawat, a Kashmiri Pandit, who has shown Kashmiriyat by pleading the case to deliver justice to the minor girl.
