President Draupadi Murmu arrives on a two-day Jharkhand visit
Ranchi: President Draupadi Murmu arrived in Ranchi on Thursday evening for her two-days visit to Jharkhand. During her visit, President Murmu will attend an event organized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in Namkum, Ranchi, on September 20.
Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren welcomed President Murmu at Birsa Munda Airport.
Prez Murmu left for Jharkhand Governor’s house from the airport.
The route from Ranchi Airport to Raj Bhavan, and from Raj Bhavan to the event venue in Namkum, has been transformed into a security zone, with police stationed throughout the area.
Jharkhand Police and Ranchi administration has completed extensive security arrangements to prevent any untoward incident.
The Ranchi Police have implemented strict security protocols, deploying a force of over 2,000 personnel, including six IPS officers, to ensure the safety of the nation’s first female President.
Security along the President’s convoy route will be enforced with a three-tier system. In addition to the six IPS officers, the security team includes 10 DSPs, 25 inspectors, and 20 sub-inspectors, supported by over 2,000 additional personnel. Specialized units such as the bomb disposal squad, JAP, IRB, RAF, and Jaguar teams will be on alert. Parking restrictions will be in place around the event venue, and only individuals with authorized passes will be allowed entry.
President Murmu is scheduled to land at Ranchi airport at 7:00 p.m. on September 19 and will head directly to Raj Bhavan, where she will spend the night. On the morning of September 20, she will participate in the ICAR event in Namkum around 10:00 a.m. She is expected to leave the venue by 12:30 p.m., returning to the airport before departing from Ranchi.
SSP Chandan Sinha has instructed all officers and personnel responsible for the President’s security to remain vigilant. He has directed police station heads to carry out regular anti-crime checks, especially in areas where the President’s visit is planned. Additionally, hotels and lodges in the vicinity will undergo thorough inspections. The SSP emphasized that any lapse in security will result in immediate disciplinary action.
Tall buildings along the convoy’s route have been identified, and police personnel will be stationed there before the President’s arrival. The occupants of these buildings have been verified, with police collecting detailed information about their names and addresses, ensuring constant monitoring.
Areas along her route, including from Birsa Munda Airport to Raj Bhavan on September 19 and from Raj Bhavan to Namkum on September 20, have been designated as ‘No Fly Zones.’ This applies to drones, paragliders, and hot air balloons within a 200-meter radius of the ICAR National Institute of Secondary Agriculture on Namkum Tata Road. The restrictions will be enforced from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
